PRIMARY OTHERS opens up to a good early crowd. Oak Lonetree is encouraging drinking and smoking up. I've been there for 45 minutes and finishing my fourth alcoholic beverage, who am I to argue? PRIMARY OTHERS songs "Power Moves" and "Speak Up" gets the audience dancing.
I spy Lilly from The AndWutz and she gives me a big hug!
I take a break with Oak, some new friends out back, we have a smoke and talk about marijuana reform in Mass.
*We head back in and THE FRANKS are tearing the roof off the club. THE FRANKS lead singer is playing the piano. Bob Marley/Police "So Lonely" medley is great and has everybody singing and dancing. THE FRANKS invite PRIMARY OTHERS up to perform a song with them that lights up the room. THE FRANKS, wow, check their live show out.
*SINGUYA is up next and the band is cool and ready to go but Boomhowa is having some issues, it seems all his gear, guitars, chords have crapped out on him. He's anxiously unplugging and plugging in his guitars. Finally he gets one to go and announces he's got no effects. Not that it makes any difference to the crowd, they're ready to party with SINGUYA and they get their wish. Finally ready to go I'm on stage speaking about marijuana reform in the state of Mass and thanking the bands, I get a good crowd response and then SINGUYA does one better. SINGUYA's "Pay the Man" has a big, crazy, kind mosh pit, nobody hits the floor yet lots of guys and girls going at it. And I'm right in the middle of it. Crazy fun.
*UNCLE BILLY'S SMOKEHOUSE opens with a cover of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia", more craziness. It's late and the crowd isn't going home.
We raised close to $700 from the door for Mass Cann/NORML on Saturday night. Thanks to the bands for donating their time and pay, the club Tammany Hall for hosting such a great night, and Singuya for organizing it. Thanks to all the bands, FREEDOM FIGHTERS.
GO CHECK THEM OUT AND THANK THEM, ANOTHER GREAT NIGHT FOR MASS CANN/NORML.
